British Drift Championship - Retro Ford
29.04.10
2010 has seen the Titan range of products growing steadily so when approached by the newly formed Drift Team Morleysport, Titan was keen to ensure the product range could be effectively adapted to a new style of motorsport. Titan supplied the new Limited Slip Differential (LSD) - currently being run on the MK 2 Escort driven by Ben Morley. Readers of Retro Ford Magazine will be familiar with “Project Goldmember” which has now been transformed to compete in the British Drift Championship (BDC), for the 2010 season. It is widely accepted that the use of an LSD in drifting is essential for maximum impact on the track. The Titan Traction Master offers high specification sintered clutch plates, and various ramp angle options, making it suitable for many types of racing. More recently, Titan has designed and developed a new quick rack for use on a MK3 Ford Capri, currently being built to compete in drifting with this team. By increasing the total lock and also the speed of the rack, the steering will help aid the success of the Capri when it starts competing. Drift Team Morleysport have identified a rather unique formula for competing in the BDC - as typically drifting has always attracted competitors in cars of Japanese origin and this team consists of three Retro Fords! In addition to Titan parts, Goldmember also boasts a wide range of components from Ford Specialist: Burton Power, with there being no compromise on quality and power. The team experienced pleasing results at the first round of the championship, held at Silverstone in April. Having created such a unique team in the Drift World, they will be keen to make a serious impact throughout the season, and have already attracted the attention of fans of the sport. Titan would like to offer Ben and the Team all the best this season, and are confident that this is just the start of Titan’s involvement in the Drifting scene!
